Logs

Every service’s stdout and stderr are captured and aggregated, so you can read recent history or follow a live tail across replicas. Logs are collected with Loki and Promtail under the hood — you never run or configure either.

  1. Open a service and go to its Logs tab.
  2. Recent lines load immediately; the view follows new lines as they arrive.
  3. Use the search box to filter the stream by text.

How far back history goes depends on your plan’s log retention — 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, and 60 days on Pro. See Billing & usage for the full table.

Terminal window
# Last 100 lines (default) for the linked service
bitsreef logs
# A specific project/service, more history
bitsreef logs my-project web --tail 500
# Follow a live tail (Ctrl-C to stop)
bitsreef logs my-project web --follow

--follow opens a streaming WebSocket connection and prints new lines as they are emitted; without it, the CLI fetches the last --tail lines over HTTP and exits. If you’ve linked the directory to a service, the project and service arguments are optional.
